Brazil
Brazil has a long history when it comes to shoe making. When Europeans were coming to the Americas many Italian immigrants settled in Brazil. They have the biggest Italian community outside of Italy. They brought their shoe making abilities to Brazil.
famous Italian shoe brands use the Blake Construction Method. It is the style Brazil prefers for their cowboy boots. Blake stitch makes the boot more lightweight and flexible. It is a great options for those who use the boots for office, leisure, and casual wear. It is easy to break the boots in.
Brazil does use a mix of modern techniques to cut labor costs and facilitate the boot making process. They have adapted traditional methods with modern technology to offer a well balanced boot.
Leon, Mexico- The Boot Capital of the World
Leon, Mexico is known as the boot capital of the world! This city has many boot makers and they honor the tradition of making boots the old fashioned way.
We want to offer best boot possible and in order to do so there is no place like Leon, Mexico.
Our boots features the best leathers available, a good year welt construction, lemon-wood pegs and brass nails, cork-bed filling, a leather mid-sole and memory foam for added comfort.
Goodyear is the most durable boot making technique. It allows the boot to be re-soled easily and it has more layers for comfort. Lets start with the inside first. Your foot will be on top of a leather insole and underneath there is a memory foam that will also adapt to your feet. Under the memory foam is our leather mid-sole.
Under the mid-sole we have a metal shank for support and a cork filled bed that will mold to your feet over time. On the out-sole you will find a traditional leather sole which has brass nails and lemon-wood pegs.
Brass vs lemon-wood? We decided to go with both. Brass is extremely durable and lemon-wood contracts and expands with the leather when exposed to water.
Our boots made in Leon, Mexico uses the best material and construction method for comfort and durability.
Winner?
well it depends. To sum up Brazil vs Leon, Mexico it depends on what you are looking for.
The pros for Brazil is a more lightweight boot, smooth leather and flexibility. The cons are the blake construction while more lightweight does not have as much layers as a goodyear welt. It can be resoled but it will be more expensive.
The pros for Leon, Mexico is goodyear welt, traditional boot making methods and durability. the cons are that it is a heavier boot due to added layers for comfort and due to it's old world handmade techniques the boots are more expensive to make.
We are a fan of both styles. Brazil is a mix of modern and practical while Leon, Mexico is traditional and durable.
